28 September, 2009, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued a Type Certificate for An-26 and An-26B aiecraft powered by AI-24VT engines developed by SE Ivchenko-Proress.
Historic reference: 2009 – 50-year anniversary of developing the AI-24 turbofan engine; 20.10.1959 the initial flight of the An-24 aircraft powered by Ai-24 turbofan engines was carried out; crew head: Lysenko G.I. 21.05.1969 – initial flight of An-26 aircraft powered by Ai-24VT turbofan engines; crew head: Ketov Yu.A.
